Welcome to Summer quarter! Hopefully it is starting out smoothly for all. The Housing team has had many encounters with our new incoming Summer students – and we all agree, this is a great group of students. They seem so enthusiastic, always smiling, asking lots of questions. Maybe all this sunshine has something to do with the happy faces but we are loving it. I hope you are experiencing the same.
Speaking of Summer and sunshine – there are many activities happening all summer on campus. Be sure that both you and your student stay informed. Please see below for more details: (Students may also go to the SU (Student Union building) for more updated information)

The Housing team met with our new IESL students, levels 1-3 yesterday for lunch at Kent campus. We discussed safety and awareness. We encouraged them to be active and involved with their host families and new opportunities while they are here at GRC. Please continue this conversation, help them to adjust and blend with your family.
Those of you who were Greeters, and dropped your students off at CCA – it would be great if you would reach out to your student, asked if they need anything, maybe suggest getting together, maybe invite them to your home for dinner or an outing.
Don’t forget to RSVP for the Host Family Appreciation picnic – August 5th – all are invited!
Thank you for all you do for our students and have a happy, fun and safe 4th of July!
